Another wonderful Saturday with my Grandson. I had all the necessary treats, ice cream bars, Oreo cookies, pizza, popcorn, candy (don’t tell his Mom) and Disney movies. As you know, whatever happens at grandma’s house stays at grandma’s house (no matter how many Oreos he eats)!! I was ready to keep him busy for a long time. He spent the day eating treats, playing with trucks, cars and trains. After doing everything we could at Grandma’s house, we ventured to the nearby skateboard park.
For a 3-1/2 year old, this was quite an adventure. I did get him to agree to walk and not have grandma carry him, it was part of the deal of going to the park. He loved sliding down the skateboard slides, until we had a skateboard visitor. Grandma told him we could stay there and watch the skateboarder for a few minutes. After a few tricks from the skateboarder, my grandson was jumping up and down and shouting “your awesome!” It wasn’t long before my grandson was telling me this skateboarder was his friend and was asking him if he could come over by us for a few minutes. When the skateboarder got closer, my grandson asked him if he could show him how to do skateboard tricks?
We did leave the skateboard park after the big boys arrived to try their bikes out…and on the way home as we were walking my grandson asked me if I could carry him, so I did, I knew he was tired, then he asked “Grandma do you have a couch?” I knew was was the next question – can I rest when we get back?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our grandchildren see Jesus in our lives, and they jump up and down and would say “Grandma you’re awesome, tell me how……tell me how to live like that”? May all that come behind us find us faithful to Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
